BROOKS-HOWELL HOME


Multi-phased project– all construction work is to be completed while building remains occupied.  Phase one includes: construction of a new chapel with seating for 250 people, four apartment units, and support space.  Phase two includes: new entry and gallery display area for artifact collection; enlarged library; retail area; living room; and cafeteria seating.  Estimated cost: $2,700,000.

Project team:  Architects: Peter Y. Alberice, Principal Architect in charge; Jorge Serralta, Christopher Dickson.   

Project location:  266 Merrimon Ave., Asheville, N.C.

Project description:  70,000 s.f. new construction.  7-story mixed use building in downtown Asheville.  Project includes retail, office, and residential space.

Completion date:  December, 2002.
