Cane River Middle School: New Media Center and School Renovation
Scope of project: 7,700 SF new construction, and 40,000 SF renovated space. $1.5 M budget. All renovations completed over summer, 1999, no interruption of classes. New HVAC and insulated windows. New computer classrooms, offices and media center. Open flexible classrooms that meet or exceed state requirements, featuring ample natural light. New building connected to existing school by glass connector, creating an exterior dining/ assembly courtyard. Design process included significant input from, and communication with schoolteachers and administrators.
