History

Camille-Alberice Architects was founded in 1989 by Robert Camille, Jr. and Peter Y. Alberice. We are located at 12 South Lexington Avenue in downtown Asheville in a new mixed use building that our firm developed and designed.   Our firm is a vertically integrated organization offering development, architectural design and construction services.  We are a firm of professionals consisting of registered architects, intern architects, interior designers, construction manager, technical and clerical staff.

Mixed Use Project- Retail, Office, and Residential- $19,000,000. Completed

 

700 Biltmore
Conversion of Apartment Complex into Condominium, Hotel, and Commercial Buildings- $16,000,000. Phase 1 & 2 Completed.
 

Site Selection and Analysis    

Conduct initial analysis and cost study of prospective sites, including existing structures, for compatibility with design objectives identified by the client.  For an adaptive reuse this can begin prior to programming.

 

 

Existing Facility Evaluation

Conduct analysis of existing facility to determine suitability for re-use by client.  Review current zoning ordinances, building code requirements and suitability for future expansion.

 

 

Programming & Space Planning

Determine space requirements and allocations, user needs, long term growth and flexibility, and any other considerations required for the facility.

 

 

Master Planning

Develop site and building master plan from programming & space requirements.

 

 

Feasibility Studies

If multiple sites are being considered, conduct feasibility study to determine the best site.  Generate development pro-formas and construction budgets.

 

 

Architecture & Interior Design

Provide full architecture and interior design services.  Produce several designs utilizing the information compiled by the client.  Each scheme is thoroughly investigated until one concept is selected as the best.  That concept is developed as the design for the project.

 

 

3 Dimensional Computer Modeling

Create 3 dimensional model of the facility showing the interior and exterior on the site.  This can be used by the client for a variety of uses including marketing, employee recruitment and owner review.

 

 

Construction Documents

Coordinate with our consultant team to produce complete construction documents.  Consultants on our team typically include landscape architects, and civil, structural, plumbing, mechanical and electrical engineers.

 

 

Bidding & Construction Contract Evaluation

Receive construction contract bids from contractors and subcontractors and make recommendations to client.

 

 

Construction Observation

Provide onsite construction phase review and observation to assure compliance with construction documents.

 

 

Construction Management

Coordinate sub-contractors for client, acting as coordinator.  Evaluate pay applications and monitor construction process.
